VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com)  Day two of the Valley City Shootout brought two wins to the Hi-Liners.

Valley City built a substantial lead, then held on for a 61-57 win over Four Winds-Minnewauken in girls play.

The Hi-Liners led 50-34 before a late surge by the Indians cut the lead late.  Dakota Potratz led the Hi-Liners with 18 points, with Katie Butchill adding 17, grabbing Ivy Real Estate Group Player of the Game honors.

In boys play, the Hi-Liners used a 19-2 run to take a 29-8 lead and never looked back in a 78-47 win over Dunseith.

Carson Eggert led four Valley City players in double figures with 18, netting Ivy Real Estate Group honors.  Carver Peterson tallied 13, Bryson Heck 12 and Zach Sykora 11.

Play in the shootout continues Saturday.
