VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City County Health District Office in Valley City had a few reminders and tips for those wondering how long perishable food items will last in a refrigerator or freeze during a power outage.

City County Health District Administrator Katie Beyer said depending on the length of time of the outage, she had these safety tips and reminders.

Remember if in doubt throw it out, just to be on the safe side with perishable food items.
