(NAFB.com) – USDA says export sales of corn and wheat dropped week-to-week while soybean sales surged during the week ending on December 14. Corn sales for offshore delivery were reported at 1.01 million metric tons. An agency report says that’s down 29 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the previous four-week average. Mexico was the biggest buyer at 346,500 metric tons, followed by Japan and China. Corn exports for the week were two percent higher at 870,900 tons. Wheat sales totaled 322,700 metric tons, 78 percent below the prior week and 51 percent from the average. Mexico bought the most at 98,000 tons, followed by Japan. Soybean exports for the week were up 17 percent to 337,400 tons. Soybean sales surged to 1.99 million metric tons, an 84 percent jump from the previous week. China bought 700,400 tons, and weekly exports of soybeans rose 15 percent to 1.33 million tons.
