JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department (JPD) is asking for your support to get a special computer that helps solve modern crimes.
According to a post on the Jamestown Police Department Facebook page, JPD has a chance to win a new Forensic Computer to “expedite the process of extracting, analyzing, and preserving digital evidence”.

To vote and help, go here and click “vote” under our Agency Patch. Please put in your name and email, check your email for a PIN code, and use it to cast your vote.

The JPD deals with new crimes like cyber fraud and identity theft. They want a special computer with special tools to make it easier to solve these cases. Right now, officers have to drive long distances to process digital evidence, causing a big backlog in cases. Getting this computer will help fix that problem and improve the officers’ jobs.

JPD is up against 4 other departments for a chance to win the computer.
