(ND Ag Connection) – Crop advisers seeking advanced knowledge can look forward to the University of Minnesota and North Dakota State University Extension’s Advanced Crop Advisers Workshop. Scheduled for January 24-25 at the Fargo Holiday Inn, this workshop offers a platform for in-depth discussions on various crop production topics.

Greg Endres, an NDSU Extension cropping systems specialist and workshop co-chair, emphasizes the workshop’s role in enhancing crop production recommendations. The event will feature land-grant university crop experts from across the Midwest, covering a dozen critical topics.

The workshop begins at 10:15 a.m. on January 24, with sessions running from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Topics include the impact of world affairs on grain prices, stress tolerance in crops, the role of AI in crop advising, and exploration of soil health. The first day concludes with a social event for participants to share experiences and insights.

On January 25, beginning at 7:30 a.m., sessions will cover the future of corn and soybean production, disease management in key crops, and strategies for managing multiple pests. A discussion on soybean phytophthora root and stem rot, and corn rootworm management, will also feature.
