Jamestown, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-Silas Bennion scored a team high 23 points and drilled 5 three pointers to help lead the Jimmies to a 77-73 win over the Mayville State University Comets. The Jimmies knocked in a total 13 three’s overall on 13-27 shooting from beyond the arc for 48 percent. Will Cordes added 13 points (3 made three’s), Cole Woodford added 11 points (3 made three’s), and Colby Vazquez added 10 points (2 made three’s) helping in the Jimmy victory. Bennion and Cordes both added a team high 4 assist and 2 steals. Jimmy Llinas added 6 points and a team high 8 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Antonio Chandler added 8 points along with 7 rebounds aiding the Jimmy win. The Jimmies connected on 8-9 free throws for 89 percent and was a big difference in the game as the Comets made just 6-13 from the line. The Jimmies outscored the Comets 40-33 in the second half after trailing 40-37 at halftime. The game had a total of 9 ties and 12 lead changes with the Comets largest lead at 5 points late in the first half and the Jimmies had a 9 point lead with 11:55 to play in the second half at 59-50.
The Comets were paced by Jamison Kramer with a game high 27 points and a team high 7 rebounds. John White Jr. added a game high 6 three pointers accounting for all 18 of his points. Thomas Gieske added 13 points. The Comets dropped to 10-3 overall and the Jimmies improved to 6-8 overall and it was the second win of the season over the Comets with a 69-66 win at Mayville on November 8th.
