VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Theresa Will has worked as a public health nurse since 1989 with the City-County Health District (CCHD) office in Valley City. Will stepped into the Administrator’s position in 2004.
She has been involved in a variety of public health initiatives, organizations, and projects. She has led the Barnes County Behavioral Health Coalition, a group dedicated to bringing mental health and addiction counseling services to under served rural populations. She talked about that and her future plans following her retirement.
In June, Theresa was awarded the Outstanding Service award at the 2023 Rural and Public Health Awards Banquet, which recognizes outstanding North Dakota rural health and public health advocates for their accomplishments. This award, presented by the North Dakota Public Health Association, honors an individual who has exhibited continued excellence in the field of public health.
Katie Beyer has worked with the City County Health District for nearly a decade. She will become the new Administrator on January 1, 2024. Beyer said Theresa Will’s commitment as a public health nurse over the last 34 years and as administrator since 2004 is second to none.
