Valley City Cares Mitten Tree project began 46 years ago as a part of Daryl and Rosie Larson’s charity organization. VC Cares, formed in 1975, functions as a non-government organization that relies on donations to provide for families in the community.

Rosie’s idea for the mitten tree came when she was a little girl and saw a Christmas tree in a bank window in Detroit Lakes, MN. That tree was decorated with mittens as part of a charity program, much like the Mitten Tree in Valley City.

Family and friends of the Rosie Larson Mitten Tree and Valley City Cares want to thank the community for their generous donations during this Holiday Season.

Stoudt-Miller, Inc., along with the Barnes County Veterans Service office, and the Mane Tamer Salon in Valley City will be accepting donations now through December 18th. For more information please call 845-0688.
