(ND Ag Connection) – Farmers and agronomy enthusiasts are gearing up for the 40th Western Dakota Crops Day, hosted by North Dakota State University’s research extension centers in Hettinger and Dickinson. This year’s event, scheduled for December 14 at the Hettinger Armory, promises a rich program of research results, soil management strategies, and updates from the North Dakota Agricultural Weather Network (NDAWN).

Morning registration will kick off at 9:30 a.m. MST, accompanied by coffee and doughnuts, followed by the start of presentations at 10 a.m. Throughout the day, attendees will have the chance to explore exhibits and engage with vendors.

Keynote speakers include NDAWN’s Cassidy Holth, who will delve into the utility of NDAWN weather stations for agriculture, and Brian Jenks, a weed scientist discussing weed management techniques.

Caleb Dalley, John Rickertsen, Chris Augustin, and Patrick Wagner will unveil agronomy research pertinent to the western Dakotas, covering topics from weed control to crop variety performance.

Participants will also encounter a range of commercial exhibits showcasing the latest in seed technology, chemical products, and agricultural services.
