VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com, photo courtesy of Dickinson State University Athletics)  After a tough start to the weekend, the Viking men rebounded to set a scoring record, while the Viking women struggled against a ranked Rocky Mountain team.

Valley City State dropped both ends with Rocky Mountain, with the women falling 91-49 to the 14th-ranked Bears, and the men dropping a 108-80 decision.

The Viking women had a tough day from the field, shooting just 27%.  First-year player Delaney Cotton finished with 10 points to lead the Vikings.  The Viking men were co-led by Ladarius Stanfield, who earned a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.  The Viking men trailed by 10 going into the break after leading early.

The Viking men then scored 131 points, a team scoring record, in a rout of Oak Hills Christian College to finish up the weekend.  They were co-led Lamar Grayson and Hunter Lyman, each with 19 points, with the Vikings leading 79-19 at the break.

The Viking women will play at Minnesota-Morris Tuesday, while the men play an exhibition game at Minot State December 6th.
