FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Senior Maya Vibeto had 14 kills and 20 digs to help the number three seeded Knights of Our Redeemers defeat the Rockets of New Rockford/Sheyenne 3-1 (25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 25-19). OR is now 31-6-6 overall, NRS drops to 29-5-3 overall.
In the first set, there were six ties, the last tie was at 15, then the Knights pulled away for the victory. In set two, Our Redeemers led at one point 20-6 and cruised to take the 2-0 lead. In set three, with some big kills by from Senior Kelsie Belquist and Sophomore Ava Peterson, the Rockets won it by two points to force a fourth set. In set four, OR led by as many as nine and they secure the match victory and will move into Friday’s first semifinal at 5pm against No. 2 May-Port/CG. Belquist had 15 kills, two blocks and 22 digs, Peterson had 10 kills for NRS. For OR, Leah Lindquist had eight kills and four blocks. The Knights had seven aces, three from Allie Francis.
