VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – This year’s annual District 24 Dem-NPL Roundup comes with a holiday theme. The festivities will begin with a catered meal on Friday, December 1st at the Dacotah Pavilion in Chautauqua Park in Valley City. Doors open at 5 pm, with dinner served at 6 pm followed by a live auction. A silent auction will proceed through the evening.

North Dakota Senator Ryan Braunberger, from District 10 in Fargo will be the guest speaker. Senator Braunberger has worked tirelessly to address North Dakota’s childcare crisis. He is the Minority Caucus Leader in the ND Senate.

Well-known Dem-NPLer Katrina Christiansen, a Jamestown neighbor, who has recently announced that she will be running for Kevin Cramer’s senate seat will also speak at the event. “I’m very excited to talk to North Dakotans about the issues that matter most to them,” Christiansen stated. “Issues that affect their pocketbook. The cost of healthcare, the access to healthcare, mental health resources, teacher shortages — all of these things affect our economy. If we don’t have teachers, we won’t have people who will be able to fill jobs in the future.”

Local foods will be a focus of the night. One of the items will feature ‘Cows & Co” from Carrington, ND with various cheeses, gelato and more. Another live auction item will feature Brockopp Brewing. Darlene and Phil Mueller aim to please and they’ll be bringing many packages of their mouth watering homemade lefse. And Mary Ann Winkler of homemade bun fame will share numerous packages of her delights to the highest bidder. “And that’s only a start,” states District 24 Chair, Brad Edin, who has hinted that he maybe offering a gourmet dinner at his own home to be up for bid. To top off the live auction will be one week at Scottsdale Camelback Resort, in sunny Scottsdale Arizona—a perfect January getaway during the freezing cold of North Dakota. The resort
features a heated pool, sauna, hot tub fitness center, 9 hole putting green, restaurant and more.

The Holiday Roundup event is open to the public. Please call ahead for tickets: Sharon Buhr at 840-097 or Brad Edin at 845-5799.  A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
