VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Emerald Ash Borer beetle hasn’t been officially spotted yet in Valley City, but Ash tree owners should keep a watchful eye.
City Forester Bob Anderson said the city is being proactive in anticipation of this beetle infesting Ash trees in the future. He said several trees at key locations in the city have already been removed.
He said it’s more cost effective to remove a few Ash trees now before they become infected.
Anderson said don’t haul firewood from another state, it’s the best defense against bringing the Emeral Ash Borer beetle larva into the area.
