The Jamestown Blue Jays would be first up in the WDA Regional Volleyball Tournament in Bismarck today against the Bismark St. Mary’s Saints. The Blue Jays are the #1st seed in the tournament finishing their regular season 19-1 in conference matches. Bismarck Saint Mary’s is the #8th seed after finishing 7-13 in conference play this season.

Jamestown would have its toughest set to begin the match in the 1st set. The Blue Jays and Saints would battle back and forth with both teams claiming the lead at different times through the 1st ten points. In the 10–20-point range is when Jamestown would begin to find some rhythm. They found themselves up 24-19 at set point, then the Saints would score once more before the Blue Jays would finish off the set winning 25-20. In the 2nd set, Jamestown would handle their business quicker getting out to an early lead and holding it the rest of the way for a 25-16 win.

In the 3rd and final set, Jamestown would get out to a 9-3 lead to start the match. The Blue Jays would truly maintain control of the lead and the match by leading the entirety of the set and winning 25-13.

Jamestown will be back in action tomorrow at 5 p.m. to take on Bismarck High School in the Semi-Finals.
