VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Barnes County Auditor, Beth Didier has served the county for more than 20 years and more than a decade as the auditor, she was re-elected in November of 2022 to a four-year term.

Earlier this year, Didier decided to step down to spending more time with her family and working on the family farm. She was pleasantly surprised with a gift from commissioners after she presided over her final county commission meeting on November 7th.

Long time deputy Barnes County Auditor Julie Mindt has been appointed to become the Interim Auditor on November 9th. She was sworn into the office on November 7th.

Earlier this year, during the Barnes County Commission meeting on July 6th, Commissioner Shawn Olauson moved to appoint Julie Mindt to serve as Interim Auditor, to fill the unexpired term of Barnes County Auditor Beth Didier, whose resignation will take effect at the close of business on November 8.

Julie Mindt will have the option of running for a full-term in the next scheduled election for Barnes County Auditor in November of 2026.
