VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) It was a clean sweep of the weekly Player of the Week honors in the North Star Athletic Association for Viking football.
Valley City State’s Justice Bice, Riley Gerhardt, and Masila Siua were named Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, after a Viking 21-14 win over Dakota State Saturday.
Bice accumulated 175 all-purpose yards, including 132 rushing yards and a 28-yard rushing touchdown, the eventual winning score Saturday. His effort followed 229 all-purpose yards in the previous game at Waldorf.
Gerhardt became the Vikings career record-holder for sacks with a quarterback Saturday. He also had 12 tackles, including six solo tackles, and two forced fumbles.
Siua averaged 40.2 yards per punt on five efforts, including two inside the Trojan 20-yard line. He also registered a touchback on a kickoff.
The Vikings travel to Mayville State Saturday.
