CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Madison Johnson and Isabel Wendel had 12 kills each to help Carrington defeat Medina/Pingree/Buchanan 3-1 (25-22, 25-16, 22-25, 25-21). Carrington is now 21-9 overall, MPB drops to 20-8 overall.

The Cardinals cruised in sets one and two, they never trailed and there were no ties. Set three was way more close, there were 12 ties and MPB pulled away late for the victory. In set four, there were four ties, but the Thunder never led. For the MPB Thunder, Brynn Sorenson had 14 kills, Allison Thomas added 13.

Next up for Carrington will be the District 5 Volleyball tournament in Oakes, running October 26th, 27th and 30th. Carrington is the four seed and they will take on fifth seeded Griggs/Midkota Titans at 4pm on Thursday, Oct. 26th. The second match on Thursday will have Lamoure/LM take on Barnes County North approximately 25 minutes after, and the last match on Thursday will be Oakes taking on Ellendale.
