VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Public School District Superintendent Josh Johnson said Wednesday, October 18th is an Early Dismissal Day for all students at Valley City Public Schools.
Johnson said in advance of the Coordinated Community Active Shooter and Reunification Exercise, we would like to share our appreciation with all of the emergency responders in Valley City and Barnes County. We are grateful for their service to our school and community and thankful for the opportunity to partner with them to protect our students’ safety at Valley City Public Schools. The next time that you see an emergency responder in Valley City or Barnes County, consider telling them THANK YOU for keeping our students and staff safe.
The Active Shooter Exercise will be held at the Valley City Jr/Sr. High School on Wednesday, October 18th from 1pm to 4pm. A portion of Central Avenue north will be closed from the 400 to 600 blocks for this exercise.
The emergency responders and participating agencies are included in this exercise.
Valley City- Police and Fire Department (including the City of Valley City- Public Works and Administration)
Barnes County- Emergency Management, Sheriff’s Department, Dispatch 911, and Ambulance
Healthcare Providers- City-County Health and Mercy Hospital
