VALLEY CITY N.D. (Submitted)- On Saturday, October 14th, the Hi-Liner Cross Country team traveled to Grand Forks for the Eastern Dakota Conference Championships. It was a great day for the Valley City athletes, as fifteen personal records were set along with three season records.
Senior Reagan Berg ran a personal best time of 18:46 in the Varsity Girls 5K to win the Championship, setting a pace 25 seconds faster than her nearest competitor. Berg is the first girl in Valley City history to win the girls EDC race. Along with the championship and All-Conference honors, Reagan Berg was also selected the East Region Senior athlete of the year.
Eighth grader, Brynn Lueck also ran a personal best time of 20:01 to place 14th in the Varsity Girls 5K race. Brynn also earned All-Conference. Valley City’s head coach Deb Beilke was also acknowledged for her efforts this year as she took home EDC Coach of the year honors.
