The #2 seeded Jamestown High School boy’s soccer team won yesterday against the #3 seeded West Fargo in the quarterfinals of the state tournament after the game went to penalty kicks where Jamestown would win the shootout 5-3.

Jamestown is the #2 seed in the west, and West Fargo is the #3 seed in the east. West Fargo is the defending state champions.

The match couldn’t be decided in double overtime after Jamestown made a comeback to tie it up with West Fargo late. Connor Traut delivered the game-winning penalty kick for the Blue Jays, sending them to the semifinals for the first time in program history.

Jamestown improved to 12-2-2 on the season. The Blue Jays will take on the east #1 seed Fargo Shanley on the season at 6:45 p.m. today.
