The game started out with a fumble from Jamestown and WF Horace would get the football at the Blue Jay 39-yard line. Some trickery was the theme for WF Horace as the first play of the game was a handoff to running back Dylan Johnson, before he pitched it to Gavin Olson on a reverse, then Olson threw a pass down the field into the endzone for a wide-open Lucas Holsing. 6-0 would be the lead after a failed 2pt conversion.

On the first drive for Jamestown, the offense would drive down to the 10-yard line, before quarterback Ryan Kallenbach would throw an interception to Axel Anderson who would return it back 90 yards for a pick 6. Mason Johnson converted the 2pt conversion. WF Horace had a 14-0 lead with 7:56 in the 1st quarter. At the end of the first it was 14-0 still, Jamestown running 24 plays of offense to just 4 plays for the Hawks.

With 10:03 left in the 2nd quarter, Kallenbach threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to receiver Nate Walz, Tyson Jorrison would score the 2pt conversion making the score 8-16. The Blue Jays offense would continue to roll, driving 10 plays for 47 yards ending in a 2-yard rushing touchdown for Jorrison making the score 14-14 after the failed 2pt conversion with 5:00 left in the 2nd quarter.  Then with 35 seconds to go in the first half, Kallenbach hit Walz on a bubble screen that would go to the house for 46 yards pushing the score 20-14. On the next kickoff, an onside kick was successful. Kallenbach would be sacked twice though ending the first half with the Blue Jays having the lead 20-14.

Things got hectic quickly late in the 4th quarter.

The fight would continue from both sides, before Olson would carry the ball on another reverse play, after the ball was initially given to running back Ty Geray, he pitched to Olson who would take it to house giving WF Horace the lead 21-20 with 4:56 left in the 3rd quarter.

Then Jamestown would pin the WF Horace at their own 6-yard line, forcing the Hawks to punt. That is when Caleb Schiele returned the punt back 45 yards for a touchdown giving the Blue Jays the lead 26-21.  Jamestown would back themselves up on a 2pt conversion attempt before Kallenbach would throw a 13-yard pass to tight end Jackson Jarret scoring the 2pt conversion and giving Jamestown the lead 28-21 with 5:52 left in the ball game.

WF Horace would respond quickly, another trick reverse run to Olson from Johnson would go for 31 yards, before Geray would rush 5 yards for a touchdown. Receiver Israel Bauer caught the ball for a 2pt conversion. WF Horace would lead 29-28 with 4:19 left in the ball game. Jamestown would drive the football some but ultimately being stopped up around the 40-yard line in Hawks territory before getting a stop on 4th and 19 putting the game away. Jamestown would stop the Hawks one more time getting the ball back at midfield with 3 seconds left. But the final play would be a short pass to Caden Michaelson who was tackled down ending the ball game.
