Gordon Paul Lippert, 91, of LaMoure passed away at the VA Hospital on October 9th, 2023. Gordon was born on August 16th, 1932, in the small town of Verona, North Dakota to Herman and Anna (Hansen) Lippert. He was the youngest of nine children. After graduating from Verona High School in 1950, Gordon enlisted in the Army where he served as a fireman in the Korean War. He married Arla Mae Luck in 1955, they had two children, Pamela and Steve. He received his associate degree from Wahpeton State School of Science in 1960 in Engineering and moved to Iowa to work for Collins Radio. Both Gordon and Arla enjoyed bowling in Iowa so much that they decided to purchase LaMoure Lanes and move back to ND in 1975. Together they owned and operated the bowling alley for 20 years.
He had many hobbies including wood working, auto body, electronics, building things, fishing, bowling, and ending each day with a bowl of ice cream while watching the news. He held many small jobs in the community of LaMoure over the years including serving as a city Police Officer, working in the lumber yard, and bookkeeping for LaMoure Boosters.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Arla, his parents, his three brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his children, Pamela (Wade) Wolff and Steven, his grandchildren Travis (Desiree) Meisch, Nicole (Vanessa) Richter, Randi (Ross) Mutschler, and 6 great-grandchildren.
