VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Public School District (VCPS) will raise awareness all week in partnership with several other organizations in Valley City and throughout Barnes County focusing on Mental Health.
Superintendent Josh Johnson said many of us have had personal experiences dealing with the challenges of our own or a family member’s Mental Health. Today, we know that suicide, depression, anxiety, etc.. can affect any one of us regardless of our age, gender, race, religion, or socio-economic status.
Johnson said we hope by raising awareness in our community during Mental Health Week, we will help destigmatize Mental Health for our students, staff, parents, and community members. We are excited to highlight Mental Health in our community this upcoming week with these partners.
