VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – During the first week of October, municipal utilities nationwide will celebrate Public Power Week.

Valley City’s Municipal electric utility is a community owned, not-for-profit, and locally controlled entity.
Mayor Dave Carlsrud said the citizens of this community have a voice in the utility’s operations and policies.

He added, that the locally operated utility has a good track record for keeping the power on.

Carlsrud said our locally owned municipal electric utility also provides local employment for the city.
