VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)-  A decade of transformation, a decade of community, a decade of impact- as the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) marks its 10th anniversary, we reflect on a pivotal year when community needs, the dedication of our founding board, and the generosity of the Gaukler Family Foundation came together to form the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation.

Executive Director Andrea Nelson said this unique convergence laid the groundwork for the Foundation, serving as a bridge connecting donors and generosity with the needs of communities across three rural counties: Barnes, Griggs, and Ransom.

The founding board members shared a vision of the Foundation to create a profound and lasting impact across the Sheyenne River Valley area. This commitment remains the cornerstone of the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation’s mission and values.

A significant milestone in this journey is the Gaukler Family Health, Wellness & Physical Education Center—a symbol of collaborative achievement. This project exemplifies the power of partnerships addressing evolving community needs. The Gaukler Family Foundation’s extraordinary gift powered the Foundation’s initial two years, defining it as a dynamic Community Foundation.

Today, the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation stands as a beacon of philanthropy, a force for addressing community needs, and a nurturer of donors, and aspirations. The Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to the donors and all past and present board members for their contributions that have catalyzed this remarkable journey. Their philanthropic vision continues to resonate through every milestone, every established fund, and every empowered community member.

As the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation commemorates its 10th anniversary, it finds inspiration in how far it has come and is energized by the boundless potential that lies ahead. Thanks to the generosity and shared purpose of donors, families, individuals, nonprofits, and businesses alike, the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation is etching stories of positive change into the fabric of the Sheyenne River Valley area. Together, they are sculpting a legacy of impact that transcends time, embodying the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation’s commitment to building a stronger, more vibrant community for generations to come.
