ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Cardinals picked up their second victory in the district as the sweep the Ellendale Cardinals 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-23). Carrington is now 2-1 in district 5, Ellendale falls to 2-3 in the district and 6-8 overall.

Carrington controlled most of sets one and two. In set three, Ellendale led most of the way and at one point led 19-13, but Carrington came back and outscored Ellendale 12-4 down the stretch to complete the sweep. Ariel Hagen had a match high nine kills for Ellendale, Carrington was led by Madison Johnson and Edyn  Hoornaert with seven kills.

Next up for Carrington will be Thursday in Carrington to take on Benson County for a non-region match, KDAK 1600/100.1 and newsdakota.com will have the match starting about 7pm.
