VALLEY CITY, ND (courtesy of VCSUVikings.com and NewsDakota.com) For the second straight week, the Viking volleyball team has the setter and defensive player of the week in the North Star Athletic Association.
Valley City State’s Sadie Hansen and JayCee Richter have been named NSAA Volleyball Players of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. It is the third straight honor for Hansen as Setter of the Week.
Hansen had 78 assists in two 3-0 wins last week, a conference-opening win at Dickinson State, and a non-conference sweep of Briar Cliff. Richter, the teams libero, had 46 digs in the two matches.
Valley City State picked up votes in the latest NAIA top 25 national volleyball poll, and is out to a 13-3 start to their season, including two wins over previously ranked opponents. They host Mayville State Thursday.
