(ND Ag Connection) – AGCO is preparing a groundbreaking project at the Grand Farm Innovation Campus, the Dakota Smart Farm, to create a sustainable farming future. The 300-acre venture aims to introduce innovative farming techniques and retrofit existing machinery with advanced tech, preparing it for the modern era.

AGCO’s family-owned company, Appareo Systems, is partnering with a team of agronomists, scientists, engineers, and ag specialists to drive research, lead agronomy studies, and educate people about sustainable and precision farming. Seth Crawford leads the efforts, ensuring the company’s success in this mission.

Lt. Gov. Tammy Miller is praising an initiative by AGCO that aims to make North Dakota a global hub for advanced agricultural technology. The project, which focuses on autonomous tech, is expected to boost farmers’ productivity and address workforce shortages, thereby enhancing the state’s agricultural sector.

Miller, a former government official, was involved in Grand Farm’s early days. Recently, the farm achieved its Phase I fundraising target, raising over $15.1 million. The state also provided a $10 million grant to support Grand Farm’s educational and research efforts. This is part of the Accelerate ND plan, championed by the administration and supported by the legislature.
