TOWNER, N.D. (NDHP) – A fatal rollover about 4 miles north of Towner was reported Sunday, September 10th just before 7:28 AM.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) said a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was southbound on Willow Road near the intersection with 69th Street Northeast when it veered off the road to the right, the driver over corrected and entered the east ditch. The vehicle rolled and one of the occupants was ejected.

The occupant ejected, 46-year-old Joey Mattern of Rugby was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other occupant, 47-year-old Ryan Anderson of Towner suffered serious injuries and was later transported to the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. Confirmation of the driver and passenger is still under investigation with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
