VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  It was tough sledding for the Hi-Liner tennis team Saturday, as they were swept at home in non-conference action by Minot.

The Magicians took a 9-0 win over Valley City.  Cole Haugen forced a set into a tie-break at number six singles, losing to Connor Odahlen 6-2, 7-6 (2).  Noah Tulp took four games in the second set of his match, dropping his match to Oliver Thompson 6-1, 6-4.

“Our team continues to learn through experience reflecting after points to make adjustments on their own within the match,” said Hi-Liner head coach Matt Nielson.  “Also, each player is listening and enacting coaching on the next change over. They are all bought in to our system and all earnestly do their best to follow our Hi-Liner pillars.”

The Hi-Liners face Fargo Shanley Tuesday, and will dedicate new tennis courts before hand.  The Valley City Tennis Association will be hosting hotdogs, sides, lemonade, and dessert at the dedication.
