BISMARCK, N.D. (Prairie Public) – North Dakota’s Emergency Commission has approved the acceptance of increased federal funding for three building projects.

Pending approval by the Legislature’s Budget Section, the Guard will receive another $515,000 for completion of a bridge training site at Camp Grafton. In addition, $5.3 million will come for the completion of the Dickinson Readiness Center. And the Guard would receive another $2 million for the Camp Grafton fitness center.

General Jackie Huber is the deputy adjutant general for the North Dakota National Guard.

Huber said the federal money came from a competitive grant process. And he said, Governor Burgum, who chairs the Emergency Commission, gave the Guard props for getting the money.

The Budget Section will meet Thursday, September 21st.
