Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes came back from a 2 sets to nothing deficit to beat the Sargent County Bulldogs 3-2. The set scores were (24-26, 18-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-13).
The match started with Oakes trailing 8-2 early in set one. They would eventually fight back to take a lead and they would eventually make it 24-18 for 6 set points. However the Bulldogs would fight back in the set with several long volleys to make win it 26-24 on a hit out.
Set two saw the Tornadoes jump out to a quick 4-1 lead however Sargent County would go on a massive run to make it 10-5. Oakes would bring it back to 15-14 however Sargent County would pull away late to win the set 25-18.
Sargent County would jump out to a huge 8-2 lead in set 3. The Tornadoes would slowly chip away at that lead and take the lead at 15-14. They would then take the set 25-20 after several big blocks and service errors by the Bulldogs.
Set 4 was Oakes dominance as they would jump out to a huge 15-3 lead early. They would see the lead slowly chipped away but they would eventually take the set 25-19 on a service error.
Set 5 was a slog-fest with neither team giving an inch. The largest lead was 10-7 in favor of Sargent County. Oakes would then tie it at 11 and they would trade points till 13-13. After that Oakes got the match point and following a Kassidy Jackson light touch they would win it 15-13.
