VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) On August 28, interviews were conducted with the three finalists for Valley City Police Chief. The hiring committee has requested that as a matter of due diligence, standard law enforcement background investigations be completed on the candidates.
Committee member Carl Martineck said it is anticipated that this process will be completed in approximately two weeks, at which time the committee will reconvene. Further information will be available following the next committee meeting.
A brief bio of the three finalists interviewed August 28th is listed below.
Valley City Police Department Sergeant Nicholas Horner, a life-long Valley City resident has worked for the Police Department for 11 years.
Valley City Police Department Officer Sean Hagen has worked for the Valley City Police Department for a total of 13 years and for the last six years as School Resource Officer for Valley City Public Schools.
Trooper Brett Westbrook, has worked for the Minnesota State Patrol for 19 years. He previously served as a patrol officer and Gang Unit Detective with the Arlington Texas Police Department from 1999 to 2004.
