The Blue Jays got off to a tough start early in this contest at Grand Forks Red River, as with still 7 minutes left in the 1st quarter, Pearce Parks threw his first touchdown of the day 10 yards to Zach Oehlke. 2 minutes later Parks threw a jump ball up 29 yards down the field into the endzone for receiver Hayden Hong who was able to bring in the catch and push the score to 14-0. To start the 2nd quarter the Rough Riders would find the endzone again this time coming on a 46 yard over the shoulder, jump ball to Hayden Hong to push the lead to 21-0.

 

Finally Jamestown with 4 minutes left in the first half , running back Tyson Jorisson would get a handoff going left and was able to win the foot race to the edge to get into the endzone for a 9 yard touchdown, cutting the deficit to 21-7.  That would be your halftime score.

 

Grand Forks Red River would control the 3rd quarter scoring yet again with 5:12 left on the clock on another spectacular catch was made by Hayden Hong for the 20 yard touchdown. But Jamestown would fight hard to get themselves back into the game.

To start the 4th quarter with 11 minutes to play, the Blue Jays would score for the 2nd time on the day on a 43 yard QB Keeper from QB Ryan Kallenbach cutting the deficit 27-14. Then with 7 minutes to go in the 4th quarter a scrambling Kallenbach rolls out to the right and airs it out deep to Nate Walz who makes an incredible catch to make it a one score game 21-27.  Late in the game with 2 minutes left to play after a long drive from the Blue Jays, Kallenbach would score on a 1 yard QB sneak up the middle to come all the way back and take the lead 28-27 with 2:13 to go in the football game.

Parks and company would respond with 1:07 left in the game with a 25 yard touchdown pass to Oehlke who had a 1 on 1 matchup to the outside down the field. This put the score at 33-28 but the Blue Jays would not completely lay down, at their own 40 yard line, Kallenbach would complete a pass over the middle between the hashes to Caleb Sheely for 19 yards down to 41 yard line. But with 10 seconds to go on the next play, Kallenback would complete a pass out near the left hash to Walz 5 yards down the field but he would be wrapped right away and the clock would run out ending the game 33-28.

Parks ended the day with 5 touchdowns while Kallenbach ended the day with 3 touchdowns.

Jamestown will be home next week for their home opener against Turtle Mountain, kick off is set for 7 pm.
