VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Several school districts across the state continue to struggle filling teaching and other support staff positions.
Valley City Public Schools Superintendent Josh Johnson said we are fortunate to have VCSU in our backyard to help fill teaching positions.
Johnson supported Governor Burgum’s proclamation to allow student teachers to help fill open positions across North Dakota.
In other news, Johnson said our opening day enrollment for grades K-12 at Valley City Public Schools is 985 students. Two more students than what we had projected last spring for the 2023-2024 school year.
A full breakdown of our enrollment by grade level, home school, and tuition/open enrollments will be reported to the school board in mid-September.
