Steven E. Behm, 55, of Valley City, ND died peacefully August 5, 2023 surrounded by his family. Steve was born May 4, 1968, to Earl Behm and Judy (Button) Mischka. He grew up in Valley City, ND where he rode dirt bikes, was a member of the boy scouts, hunted, fished, shot trap, and played saxophone in the high school band. He graduated with the class of 1986 in Valley City, ND and went on to attain his Airframe and Power Plant license from Dakota Aerotek in Fargo, ND. He worked for 33 years in the airline industry, starting in 1990 with Mesaba Airlines, Pinnacle Airlines, Sun Country, and Endeavor Air, in Minneapolis, MN.
Steve, (“Fish” as he was known by friends), left a lasting impression on all that he met throughout the years, with his quick wit and ability to find humor in nearly everything. He always had a way of getting everyone to laugh no matter the situation, including his storytelling abilities of his adventures throughout the years. No matter the circumstance, he always made new friends and was willing to drop everything to help someone in need. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, making deer sausage, watching WWII documentaries, and spending time at home with his family and dogs. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his Wife Maria (Schneider), Daughter Amanda (Lourens), Son Brandon (Sydney), Sister Sue (Wayne) Cherney, Father Earl (Connie) Behm, Mother Judy (Ken) Mishka, as well as many relatives and lifelong friends.
A celebration of his life is planned on August 26, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Valley City Eagles Club, in Valley City, ND, with refreshments to follow.
