Sandra Kay Schwartz, 65, passed unexpectedly, on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Sandi was born on September 9, 1957 in Fargo ND to Lois Belling & Lawerence Schmidt. Sandi graduated from Litchville High School, Class of 1975. After high school, she was married and had her four children, Darren, Danelle, Dani Marie and Becky. She raised sheep for many years and was very proud of the operation she had built.
On December 19, 1992, Sandi took the hand of marriage with Robert Schwartz. They joined their families into one. For the last 30 years, they have ran and operated their own trucking company. Sandi has hauled everything from road oil to corn. She enjoyed driving her truck and working along side Bob all these years.
Sandi was not involved in many organizations to say, but the one thing she was involved with the most was her family. She loved her family more than anything in this world. And, even if you were not family,
she would take you in as her own. Her kids’ friends, and their families, were also her family. It did not
matter what the involvement was, she would be there. Darren & Danelle were active in football,
basketball, and track. She never missed a game. Dani Marie & Becky traveled the country to rodeos, and
she would happily get them to wherever they needed to be, and Sandi quickly become a rodeo mom to
many. She loved the rodeo queens the most. Sandi & Bob even traveled all the way to Washington State
to bring Cody home, where they raised her as well.
After the kids “grew” up and moved off to their new lives, her joy was still to follow them around and
she loved her grandkids. The grandkids could never do wrong and if you called and asked, she would be
wherever she needed to be, no matter the distance.
Sandi was a unique individual and had the biggest heart. There was nothing she would not do or try to
do for anyone. She loved livestock, mainly her sheep, and took pride in all of her animals.
Sandi is survived by her husband & soulmate, Bob. Sandi’s children; Jodean (Darren) Nelson, Ypsilanti,

Lakin, KS, Cody (Darius) Graves, Colorado Springs, CO, Sadie (Jerad) Fuller, Dorchester, NE, Stacy Kirk,
Grand Island NE, Angie Schwartz, MO, & Jeremy Schwartz, Grand Island, NE. Her grandchildren; Darrien
Nelson, Minot ND, Michaela (Andrew) Martin, Minot, ND, Tyson Witt, Lynnae Witt, Miranda Witt,
Ypsilanti, ND Callie Collins, Tyler Collins, Grand Island, NE, Jozlynn Heinrich, Jaxson Heinrich, Deerfield KS
Kasen Gray, Korbin Gray, Lakin KS, Aubrey Graves, Nova Graves, Colorado Springs CO. Sandi’s siblings;
Donald (Marlys) Schmidt Fargo ND, Gerald (Linda) Schmidt Devils Lake, ND, Sue (P.W.) Simonson Fargo
ND, Bradley (Connie) Schmidt Iowa Falls IA. Sandi’s best friends, Gwen Johnson, Lavonne Bruun, and
Karen George. Sandi was proceeded in death by her mother Lois Belling, her son, Darren Nelson, her
brother Dean Lindblad, and sister Teresa Borud.
A service of celebration of life will be held Wednesday, August 23 at 2pm at the Oliver Nathan Funeral
Home in Valley City ND.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City.
