Terry Houle, age 58, of St. John, ND, formerly of Valley City, ND, died Friday, August 18th at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. He died with his fiancé by his side after a short battle with Laryngeal cancer.

A celebration of Terry’s Life and Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, August 28 th at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday evening at the church. A livestream of Terry’s service and an online guestbook will be available at lerudmathias.com

Terry was born October 30, 1964 in Belcourt, North Dakota to Bernard Houle and Jeannette (Smith) Azure. As a young boy he lived in Belcourt and Fargo before the family settled in Valley City, ND.  Terry began his work in construction at the age of 15. He continued on this path, eventually working his way up to being a foreman for numerous companies, most recently WDS, Inc. Terry loved earthwork and was very skilled in his craft.  His work has brought him all over the country, making lots of friends along the way. He loved being outdoors boating, fishing, and hunting. Terry also loved being around the people he cared about, hosting cookouts, Fourth of July fireworks, and just sitting and spending time with family and friends. He was always willing to help out friends and family in any way he could.

Terry is survived by his parents, fiancé Melanie Wilson, three children Darcy Hamlin, Rhiannon and Raiden Houle, stepchildren Alexis and DaShae Wilson, grandchildren Grace Berthold and Malachi Hamlin, siblings Sue Azure, Tina (Roger) Sackett, Darrell,  Vaughan and Riel Houle, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his stepfather Larry Azure, sister Kristy Komrosky, and brothers Rob, Ron and Jesse Houle.
