EMBDEN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Department investigated a vehicle crash that happened just north of Embden.

The accident was reported around 1:20 pm on Thursday afternoon. According to the Sheriff’s Department, a pickup and a semi-tractor trailer were found off the roadway. The single occupant of the pickup truck had to be extricated by fire personnel and was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash investigation determined that the pickup was turning into a field approach and was rear-ended by the semi-tractor trailer. The semi driver was not injured, and cited for distracted driving.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Casselton Ambulance, Casselton Fire, Alice Fire, and Buffalo QRU.
