VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  The Hi-Liner girls golf season will start competition Friday on familiar ground.

Valley City plays host to a full Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) invitational Friday morning.  The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM at Bjornson Park Public Golf Course, with the Valley City Town and Country Club also listed on some teams schedules.

Kylie Van Bruggen will be expected to be a team leader early.  Van Bruggen enters her freshman season after closing her eight-grade year with a team-leading 105 at Fargo Country Club and a 114 at Maple River.

Plenty of golf awaits the team’s start to the season.  Following the event in Valley City on Friday, the Hi-Liners travel to the two-day East-West Classic in Jamestown next Monday and Tuesday, and will play again in the EDC August 17th at Bios de Sioux, hosted by Wahpeton.
