VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Police Department has a new motorized bike that officers will use to patrol the city during seasonal weather conditions.

Police Chief Phil Hatcher said it’s another tool that will be useful for officers and the city of Valley City. He said the bike was made in Fort Wayne, Indiana from Recon Power Bikes.

The motorized bike is powered by a rechargeable battery. It can also be used with pedal power.

Hatcher presented the bike to city commissioners during their regular board meeting on August 1st in the city commission chambers.
