JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The FAA is investigating a small plane crash around 9 am on Thursday in a pasture field west of Jamestown.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a crop dusting plane piloted by 29-year-old Michael Carrigee of Bush, Louisiana was attempting to take off from a private airstrip west of Jamestown. The plane did not gain enough take-off speed to create enough lift for a safe take-off, the plane struck a barbwire fence and went down a ravine, eventually coming to rest in a pasture field. The pilot was not injured.
