Oakes, ND (Oakes PD) – On July 25th, officers were called to a domestic disturbance near the 400 blk of south 12th Street in Oakes.  Officers made contact with a female outside a residence who disclosed that an incident occurred earlier where she was assaulted and was the victim of disorderly behavior.  Officers made numerous attempts to make contact with the male subject inside the residence without entering but were unsuccessful.  Officers eventually entered the residence and took James Gabriel of Oakes into custody.  James was placed under arrest for Domestic Violence- simple assault and disorderly conduct.  James was transported to Barnes County Jail.  After further review by the Dickey County States Attorney the following charges were added to the criminal information: reckless endangerment-extreme indifference, preventing arrest, and menacing.
