CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The first day of the 2023 North Dakota State Class B Legion Baseball tournament was held at Carrington City Park on Wednesday with four opening day games, here are the results:

Thompson 5 Hazen 4

Hazen led 4-1 heading into the bottom of the third inning, but Thompson came back and scored the next four runs to get the victory. Brayden Wolfgram picks up the win, working six innings, Reece Berberich worked the last inning. Grady Holen takes the loss working five innings, Grant Krause came in and worked an inning.

Cando 2 New Rockford 1

Cando scored two unearned runs in the fifth inning, New Rockford scored one run in the top of the seventh but left the tying run at third as the Bearcats hold on for the one run victory. Parker Simon didn’t allow a hit until the top of the seventh inning and picks up the win. Zach Jorde got the last two outs. Keaton Cudworth takes the loss, working six innings.

Langdon 10   Burlington 0 (5 innings)

Langdon scored 4 runs in the first and second innings and was in control from the start cruising to the 10-0 victory in 5 innings. Theo Romfo went 3-3 with 4 RBI to pace the Red Sox offense. Cole Welsh and Jack Romfo went 2-3 with 1 run scored and Romfo added an RBI. Mason Romfo went 1-1 with 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored. Gage Goodman was the winning pitcher throwing just 43 pitches in 4 innings. Paxton Ystaas took the loss on the mound for Burlington. Burlington falls to 17-11 overall and Langdon improved to 17-5.

LaMoure  10     Carrington 5

LaMoure scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to break a 2-2 tie. Carrington committed 4 errors and LaMoure added 4 hits, a hit batter, 2 SB, and took advantage of 3 wild pitches. Tate Mart was the winning pitcher going 6 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs (3 earned) before Colton Ness recorded the final 2 outs. Mart went 1-3 at the plate with 3 runs scored and added 2 SB. Garrett Hebl went 2-3 with a solo homerun and 2 RBI. Jack Erickson went 1-2 with 2 walks and a run scored. Josh Bickett finished 1-2 with an RBI and a run. Carrington dropped to 14-8 overall and LaMoure improved to 25-6.
