VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The first phase of a Valley City Street reconstruction project is underway.
In the first phase, 2nd Ave NE is closed to traffic from 2nd St NE to 5th St NE. The closure will remain in effect until early October.
KLJ engineer Chad Petersen said weekly meetings are held in the city commission chambers to update local businesses and residents about the progress of the project.
And Main Street will be closed from 5th Ave NW to Central Avenue. Local traffic will be permitted to businesses inside of the road closures.
Petersen says the contractor will be installing an additional storm sewer discharge to increase the capacity of the existing system. He also said work on the master lift station is progressing well.
