VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Parks and Recreation wants to invite the entire community to the Safety in the Park event at Chautauqua Park on July 27th from 4:30 p.m.– 7:00 p.m. to meet our local first responders and explore what a day in the life of a police officer, firefighter, EMT, park ranger, and other incredible community champions looks like!

This event will highlight our local heroes from the Valley City Police Department, Valley City Fire Department, Barnes County Ambulance, Barnes County Sherriff’s Department, U.S. Corps of Engineers, and other community booths! Engage in one-on-one conversations, ask questions, take look inside their super cool vehicles, and learn more about how they keep our city and county safe!

A freewill donation meal of hot dogs, chips, and water will be provided during this event! Other features of this event
include music by Big Hammer Music Entertainment, water games by the Valley City Barnes County Public Library, and inflatables including an obstacle course!

“This is a great opportunity to meet this area’s first responders and to get to know who to call when you need help,” said Special Events Coordinator, Matt Brandvold. “By bringing everyone together for this event, we hope to promote safety, preparedness, and appreciation for our emergency responders!”

This event is open to the public, and we encourage everyone to bring their family and friends for an enjoyable and educational evening. Let's come together as a community to appreciate the hard work and dedication of our local heroes and reinforce the importance of safety in our daily lives.
