Allan Wayne Lerud, the son of Wayne and Delphine (Starke) Lerud, Allan was born in Valley City, ND, on April 23, 1957. He graduated from the University of North Dakota and worked as an accountant for many years. He married Vicki Hedstrom in Detroit Lakes, MN, and they had one child before divorcing. More recently, Allan moved back to Valley City to care for his ailing mother before her passing.  Allan enjoyed working with his hands, often repairing music equipment and computers and once installed an engine in his van. Above all Allan was an extraordinary and talented musician, excelling in playing guitar and keyboard. Some of the numerous bands he played with were Tuesday Night Big Band (Bismarck, ND), Syre (Grand Forks, ND), The Look (Fargo, ND), and Karma Rock Band (Valley City, ND). He had recently completed building an organ and enjoyed playing it using recorded sounds of those found in cathedrals in Europe. Allan’s passion was music, and those who heard him play were fortunate. He is dearly missed.

Allan is survived by his daughter, Alysa Lerud, son-in-law Tanner Miller, granddaughter Eleanor Miller, sisters Carole Rutledge and Sally Nelson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Delphine Lerud, sister Bonita Welch, nephew Danny Welch, and brothers-in-law Jack Rutledge and Bob Nelson.
