FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – NORTH DAKOTA ATTORNEY GENERAL DREW WRIGLEY SAYS FARGO POLICE OFFICER ZACH ROBINSON WAS MORE THAN JUSTIFIED IN SHOOTING AND KILLING 37-YEAR-OLD MOHAMED BARAKAT ON 25TH STREET SOUTH LAST FRIDAY AFTERNOON.

DURING A CITY HALL NEWS CONFERENCE WRIGLEY, SAID BARAKAT OPENED FIRE AS OFFICERS WERE RESPONDING TO A COLLISION BETWEEN TWO CARS. WRIGLEY SAYS BARAKAT FIRST USED A LONG RIFLE AND THEN SWITCHED TO A HANDGUN.

WRIGLEY SAYS BARAKAT HAD THREE RIFLES AND FOUR HANDGUNS IN HIS CAR, 18-HUNDRED ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION, EXPLOSIVES, A CANISTER FULL OF GASOLINE AND A HAND GRENADE.

MAYOR TIM MAHONEY SAYS BARAKAT WAS PLANNING “MAYHEM.” OFFICER JAKE WALLIN WAS KILLED, WHILE TWO OTHER OFFICERS WERE WOUNDED. A 25-YEAR-OLD WOMAN, WHO WAS PART OF THE TWO-CAR COLLISION, WAS SHOT TWICE.
