LISBON, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The District 7 Legion Baseball Tournament enters into its 4th day on Thursday July 20th in Lisbon at Sandager Field. The results are below. All LaMoure, Lisbon and Oakes games can be heard on 1220AM, 100.3 Oakes, and 95.9 LaMoure, KDDR The Tornado.

Final Elimination Game: Lisbon 3 – 2 Edgeley 

Lisbon did just enough to get past Edgeley winning 3-2 to get to the championship game. The game started slow offensively with only one hit with 3 baserunners between both teams till the 5th inning. Austin Strobel reached his tournament pitch count in the 4th inning reaching 41 for the day and 135 for the tourney. Edgeley would then score 2 runs on 2 hits and 2 errors to take a 2-0 lead in the 5th inning. Lisbon wouldn’t respond till 1 out in the 6th inning when they would score 3 runs on 3 hits to take the 3-2 lead. Wyatt Olson would then finish the game off with 2 strikeouts to win the ball game and force a rematch of last years championship game.

Lisbon now plays LaMoure at 7:00 pm where they have to win twice to go to State. Lamoure needs only 1 win.

Championship Game: LaMoure 5 – 2 Lisbon

The defending champs defend still! LaMoure punched their ticket to the Class B Legion Tournament beating Lisbon 5-2. The game started rough for Lisbon as they would not have a hit till the 6th inning with only two baserunners in the first 5 innings of play. LaMoure on the other hand got stated early with hits in all but the 6th inning. They would score 2 runs on 1 hit in the 2nd, 1 run on 2 hits in the 3rd, 1 run on 1 hit in the 4th, and 1 run on 2 hits in the 5th. Lisbon would score 2 runs in the 6th off of 2 hits and they would load the bases however Anthony Hansen settled back in and got the last two outs to leave the bases loaded. Lisbon would get 1 more hit in the 7th however Jordan Bittner would ground into a 6-4-3 doubleplay to end the game. The final score would be 5-2.

LaMoure punches their ticket to the State Tournament with this win.
