LISBON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Class B District 7 Legion Baseball Tournament continued in earnest on Wednesday July 19th in Lisbon at Sandager Field. The results are below. All LaMoure, Lisbon and Oakes games can be heard on 1220AM, 100.3 Oakes, and 95.9 LaMoure, KDDR The Tornado.
Elimination Game 3: Edgeley 13 – 3 Wahpeton
Elimination Game 4: Oakes 6 – 7 Lidgerwood/Hankinson
Lidgerwood/Hankinson walked off Oakes after coming back from a 6-0 deficit. Oakes jumped out to an early lead in the first 3 innings. They would score 4 runs on 4 hits in the 2nd inning then score 2 more in the 3rd inning leaving the bases loaded in the inning. Oakes would ride that lead all the way to the 6th inning when L/H would put 2 runs across to cut the lead down and end Blayson Dolney’s night. Dolney had a quality start with 9 K’s and only giving up 4 H’s, 2 BB’s, and 2 HBP. The 7th inning is when it came apart for Oakes. L/H would score 4 runs to tie it then score the winning run on an error. The final score was 7-6.
The winning pitcher would be Cruz Hernandez who came in relief of Matt Meyer. Hernandez would go 4.1 IP with 2 K’s, 2 H’s, and 0 R. The lose was issued to Max Walock who came in in the 6th. Walock would go 1.0IP with 2H’s, 2 BB’s, 1 K, and 5 R (3 ER).
L/H eliminates Oakes and goes on to play Edgeley.

Winners Bracket Final: LaMoure 5 – 2 Lisbon
LaMoure punched their ticket to the District 7 Championship Game beating Lisbon 5-2. They were buoyed by an excellent pitching performance by Landon Piehl and some well timed hitting. LaMoure would start the scoring in the 2nd scoring 2 runs on 2 hits. They would expand that to 3-0 after tacking on 1 run on 1 hit in the 3rd. Lisbon couldn’t get anything going in the first 3 innings going down in order each time. They would get on the board in the 4th scoring 2 runs on 3 hits they would strand 2 on base. They would threaten again in the 5th however Lincoln Adair would be thrown out at home on a Jayden Bittner fielders choice. LaMoure would tack on 2 more runs, both of which were unearned in the 7th, scoring the runs on 1 hit and 2 errors. The final score would be 5-2.
Lisbon will now have to play Edgeley at 4:30 pm for a shot to play in the Championship. LaMoure awaits either of them in the Championship Game at 7:00 pm.
